My style is casual luxury: there will likely be a 5-star hotel with great service — plush slippers, an excellent bar, and a Dyson hairdryer if we’re lucky. But the second I’m out the door, it’s neighborhood spots, English-less menus (unless we’re somewhere English-ful), and whatever the locals are drinking. Speaking of which, I’m WSET Level 2 certified, because “I really love wine” eventually needed a formal title.
